These might sound like stupid questions to old school Hawkwind fans but are they still going? I have heard rumors of shows. What was the last new cd they released?

Both Dave Brock's Hawkwind and Nik Turner's X-Hawkwind (or whatever he's calling it) are both alive and well. -

Sat, November 8, 2003 - 3:52 PMDo they tour up here?
If so, what venues have they played and do you know a good website to see about them? -

Re: Later Hawkwind
Mon, November 10, 2003 - 7:36 AMUnfortunately, I don't think the NorthWest gets to see any Hawkwind much. Nik Turner's Space Ritual was here (Eugene, Portland, Seattle) in 1995, but that's the last visit that I know of. Nik's band is active, so there's a chance they may come around some day.
Dave Brock's version of the band (the legal holder of the name Hawkwind) was here around 1990. I don't think Dave Brock's band will be coming to the States at all now due to some drug charges and apparently won't be let into the country.

Re: Later Hawkwind
Sat, November 15, 2003 - 9:28 AMWell, that is too bad. I just go "the very best of motorhead". It is cool how you can feel the hawkwind in it. Very great best of. -

Re: Later Hawkwind
Mon, June 14, 2004 - 7:54 AMThere's a track on Motorhead's '1916' that sounds almost like a Hawkwind out-take. -

Thu, July 8, 2004 - 6:01 AMHave you heard the Hawkwind track entitled "Motorhead" (1975), written, of course, by Lemmy? It was originally released as the B-side of "Kings of Speed" (which was on the Warrior on the Edge of Time LP). -

Re: Later Hawkwind
Thu, July 8, 2004 - 7:28 AMI've only heard the Motorhead version of 'Motorhead'. Like 'Lost Johnny', Motorhead does their own version on their debut (both debuts, that is).
I've been trying to find a copy of 'Warrior...', along with 'Quark...' and 'PXR5' for awhile.

Re: Later Hawkwind
Fri, July 9, 2004 - 5:35 AM'Hall of the Mountain Grill' is one of the albums that had Lemmy playing on it. You can really hear that chugging bass sound throughout and he even sings on the original version of 'Lost Johnny'. Great album.
